Statement #1--Moving PIRSA Forward

1) I would like to look at the NIRSA core competencies and truly understand how we as a state can make sure we are putting these at the forefront of what we do as professionals. These skills are vital to our future as campus recreation professionals and for the students we work with on a daily basis. Are we truly modeling these consistently with the standards set before us and as a state? I would like to really focus on our grow as institutions and for the students. 2) I would like to look at the professional development of each institution and find ways to come together whether through conferences or in digital and social ways. We have a plethora of ideas as PIRSA members and I would love to build upon those ideas and create new ways to streamline our ideas to a location that is easily accessible.

Statement #2--What makes you the best candidate?
I believe my commitment to campus recreation and the state of Pennsylvania will help take what has already been done prior to me and help build and grow those ideas as well as new ideas. Providing the opportunity to listen to all of those ideas and work with committed campus recreation professionals, we can develop amazing opportunities over the next couple of years. Also, I am focused on providing opportunities to many in the state and help best prepare each individual and college campus to grow a sustainable and purposeful campus rec program. I truly believe my experience in campus recreation (over 5 years) as well as within education (over 14 years) at all levels can be a vital part of how we move forward as PIRSA.
