Gina Palermo, Villanova University
Title: Fitness and Recreation Coordinator
Years in Current Position: 7.5 months
Years as a NIRSA Member: 6
Years in Collegiate Recreation: 6
Statement #1--Moving PIRSA Forward
Moving PIRSA forward would mean to increase the engagement amount colleges. I think there is more information we can be providing to students to help them pave a path for their future, especially in collegiate recreation. I think what we also need to analyze is why the workshops are not reaching their potential they should be. With a little information, hopefully we can re-vamp the workshops and create a closer, tight knit PIRSA family.
Statement #2--What makes you the best candidate?
I feel that I am the best candidate because I have served in multiple roles within PIRSA and NIRSA. I have been the PIRSA student leader, NIRSA Region I student leader, and worked on various committees within the PIRSA and NIRSA family. I have seen the time and work it takes to efficiently and effectively create a successful leadership group and I am eager to be apart of something more and give back to those who helped pave the way for me to be where I am today.
