Allison Yarrow, Millersville University
Title: Coordinator of Campus Recreation
Years in Current Position: 6
Years as a NIRSA Member: 8
Years in Collegiate Recreation: 8
Statement #1--Moving PIRSA Forward
Over the last 8 years, I have seen PIRSA thrive with fantastic leadership. If elected, I would be a committed member that continues to provide PIRSA with strong leadership. I truly understand the importance behind PIRSA's stated purpose of promoting and enhancing the quality of recreational sports programs. I would love to lead the team that helps in continuing to move PIRSA Forward!
Statement #2--What makes you the best candidate?
I have been involved in PIRSA for over 8 great years. Over that time, I was fortunate enough to take part in numerous PIRSA and NIRSA events. Such events include PIRSA workshops, state meetings, hosting both a state workshop and NIRSA regional conference, attending/volunteering/presenting at NIRSA regional and national conferences, NIRSA Intramural Symposium, NIRSA Club Sport Institute, PIRSA Extramural tournaments, and NIRSA regional flag football tournaments. I recently took part and graduated from the NIRSA School of Collegiate Recreation, Level 1. This opportunity helped to really drive home who I am and what I can contribute to a team. In addition, I am currently on all three of PIRSA's work teams. I am the chair of the PIRSA State Workshop work team. Along with honing in on my leadership experience and skills, I would like to express a bit more of what makes me the best candidate. I feel that I have a strong personality full of dedication, passion, hard work, tech savviness, creativity, and quite the sense of humor. I feel these qualities, as well as the rest of my skill set would contribute well to this coveted PIRSA leadership position. I would absolutely love the opportunity to give back to PIRSA, especially after many years of being on the receiving end of what past PIRSA leaders gave to me. So don't forget: for a better tomorrow, vote Allison Yarrow to be your next PIRSA President. You won't be sorrow!
