Dan Comas, West Chester University
Title: Associate Director of Campus Recreation for Facilities & Business Operations
Years in Current Position: Recently Promoted
Years as a NIRSA Member: 4
Years in Collegiate Recreation: 4
Statement #1--Moving PIRSA Forward
PIRSA needs to become a tax-exempt organization to take their next steps moving forward. There are numerous advantages to becoming tax-exempt when it comes to the formal structure, liabilities and eligibility to receive sponsorship packages. The ability to legally receive sponsorship dollars would allow future extramurals, state workshops, scholarships and socials to grow and better engage the state's membership.
Statement #2--What makes you the best candidate?
By serving on the leadership team for the past two years, I have historical knowledge to move into this position quickly and effectively address the tax exempt issue. I have recently completed the MBA program at West Chester University and can use this additional education to manage the PIRSA budget in years to come. Lastly, I served as the treasurer of City 6 for year and have experience of how an LLC should operate.
